I am a retired Naval Officer living on a small ranch in Montana. My children are grown and married. We have some livestock and my husband works for local residents doing odd jobs from carpentry to haying. I have chickens and a small vegetable garden. I do a lot volunteer work. We live 11 miles outside of a town with a population of 95. We love Montana. Losing weight is a problem because I do all the baking at home-nearest grocery store is 45 miles, nearest Walmart is 90 miles. There is not a public gym to go work out at. I try to walk not just for weight but for my COPD. I use a pedometer and really enjoy looking at how much I walk each day. My will power is terrible. I am 62 years old and need to lose weight because of high cholesterol and COPD. My husband gave me a Wii Fit for Christmas 2008, I also have a Gold's exercise bike, and I plan to walk. I succeeded in quitting smoking after many tries in 2000 so I am hoping I can get my weight down to 175 again after many tries. My first goal is 225. I like to do a lot of crafts but my eyes have hindered that this year and I will probably have cataract surgery this fall. I would love to become buddies with other women my age.
