I made it through the weekend and reduced my weight a bit. Not a lot -- .4 pounds -- but I'm happy to take it. Weekend weight gain is fairly common with me.
Coming up this week is another business trip. So I'm going to follow the strategy of my last trip -- take food, drink water, plan what I eat in advance, only one glass of wine, get some exercise. And hope it works!

Today is the day that makes or breaks my weekend goal to weigh less on Monday than I did on Friday. The tough part is that I have soccer practice today, and after practice I'm REALLY hungry and feel that I could afford to eat some extra food since I exercised hard. Usually that means a weight gain -- apparently it's easy for me to eat more than I burn, hahaha. So today, when I return from practice I'm going to make and eat a big salad and avoid "grazing" in the kitchen. My salads always have chicken or some kind of protein so they are filling.

Woo-hoo. Got through the business trip and managed to lose weight! I'm feeling very pleased. Here's what I think helped:
* I took a salad rather than eating airport food
* I ate only a very few appetizers at our client dinner and only those that were low in carbs.
* I found time to run
* Drank lots of water
* Didn't eat much

I did well yesterday in the food and exercise areas. I let myself graze when I got home last night, but didn't eat much. Grazing isn't good because it's unplanned, and because it's just various small bits of food, which makes it hard to record what I ate. I walked the dog twice and went to the gym for the elliptical stepper. Between those 3 events and various things during the day I logged 17K steps on fitbit.
Today, tomorrow, and Thursday are going to be tough because I'm traveling. I'll host a dinner tonight. I'm going to get the menu online before I go and decide what I'm going to eat. I'd like a glass of wine, but I have to limit myself to one, and my for diet it would be better to have none. Wednesday will be an all-day meeting with food brought in bufffet style -- not so difficult for eating -- but that night we're going to a colleague's house and I think he plans on having pizza. Gotta limit myself to one piece and one drink. Workout times are going to be limited during the trip but I have to make them a priority. So the goal is to return from the trip, weigh in Friday morning and weigh less than today. That will be hard, but that's the goal.
