Down a couple lbs. from last week, which is great news considering the Holiday weekend, over which I may have consumed a couple two-three cocktails more than is typical. However being cognizant of that, I also made sure I blew 10k steps a day out of the water, at least until I got home on Tuesday.

We are experiencing a mini heatwave in the Northeast, so going out for dedicated walks is a little tough. I'm getting my steps where I can throughout the day, and I dove in the pool for a few laps last night, which cannot be tracked because Fitbits are not waterproof.

I foresee a lot of activity this weekend. There is a parade in town as well as a fair. We are planning to have one of our friends over who's son is just about the same age as ours. Though the fair will have typical unhealthy cuisine, I am hopeful we can convince them to eat beforehand off the grill (Chicken, fish and whatnot). They are in the healthcare industry, so I don't foresee any issues there. On Sunday I want to tackle some yard work that I've been meaning to get to.

First weigh in after my doctors appt. I like the drop, but I also know there are a couple mitigating factors. 1) I had clothes on last week, and 2) The beginning weight was taken on the doctor's scale, not mine. On the other hand, I've been drinking a lot of water over the last couple days, so I might be retaining a bit. I would like to be below 260 by the 4th.

I hate looking in the mirror lately (I know...denial...), but it seems like my stomach is getting a little less bulgy. I will certainly continue to weigh myself, but I am just as interested in how I feel. For instance, when I was heavier and in worse shape, I would sit or lean on something at every opportunity. Now I can now stand for at least an hour (case in point, the Connecticut DMV). Also, my back would hurt if I walked "too long," and certainly if I were walking uphill. It no longer hurts and I can walk multiple miles at a time.

Albeit two dimensions, I'm obviously looking at the small stomach bulge as a positive, but I'm looking forward to when my mid-section falls below my ribs when I lay on my back.

I've only walked 1,445 so far and my Fitbit says I did not walk 250 in the 7:00 or 9:00 hours, so I have to get on my horse today. I'll go for my walk at lunch, but I also have to get moving for the rest of the time. It's already 77 here on it's way to 80 this afternoon. Sounds like another pool day (if I can get home before my wife picks up the kids)!!!

On again, off again, on again.

Had a doctors appt. this morning, which is where the weight came from. First time in almost two years That I've taken a weigh in seriously.

My wife got back on her horse a few weeks after my 2nd son was born in January. So we decided to try and get at the very least fitter together. I started a regular walking routine and started watching what I ate as well, but I did not start tracking in earnest until the beginning of May and I really wasn't interested in recording Journals. I love the FS food database and I have dozens of recipes that are stored here. Since then, however, I've lost about 3 inches on my waist alone. I also bought my wife a Fitbit for Mothers' Day (One that would measure sleep). Both of our new phones count steps but I don't think it was super accurate. We got to talking and she got me a Charge HR for Fathers' Day. I gotta say, I love it and now that I can sync the exercise with my food intake (i.e. sync Fitbit with Fat Secret), it's even better.

I want to get down to around where I was when I first started with Fat Secret, but I am breaking it up into smaller goals. My first goal is doctor stipulated of 5%. 254, here I come.
