I tired fasting, but my pain meds really affected my empty stomach

so I'm going to try to keep my meals in a shorter window during the day and have 16hr overnight fasts

I read the obesity code by dr fung and it just seems to make so much sense to me

ive also really fought fatigue since returning to work.. I used to think it was just because I worked 7 days (before I got sick last year)
but now I'm doing 4 short days and still exhausted.. my activity diary on work days doesn't even show much housework! I now realise the fatigue is part of my chronic health condition, so going to try to get some physical activity in over the long weekend while I'm not working

have a good day fs friends

I have coffee with double cream in when I take my meds (tramadol, paracetamol, anti-inflammatory, anti-depressant (for pain) water tablet) and that seems to cover them

Have you been diagnosed for your fatigue - I have fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome - some doctors prefer to call it ME. I find it a fine line between taking enough medication and being a zombie

Ah thanks miniata. I have a condition called ehlers danlos syndrome and fatigue is a common part of the syndrome. However metformin, dihydrocoedine, buponorphrine, propranolol, naproxen and nortryptylline don't help lol So it's just a case of balancing it out I don't like coffee, but might try tea instead ....

I've been under pain clinic since 2005, so jiggle my meds as well as I can 😁

You could just have a slug of double cream with them. I've always had joint hypermobility, but I don't bruise - other than that there are a lot of similarities between that and fibro. Fibro is usually what they say you've got if they can't work it out. One of the people on the facebook site I use - Fung Sweigh inspired by Dr. Jason Fung - was asking about if anyone had had any improvement with your condition and fasting. I used to take dihydocodeine - and before that morphine - but I became resistant to them and they made me itch. I do top up with hubby co-codamol regularly - then I don't take the paracetamol, of course.

Hopefully you will feel more energetic as you lose weight. I have certainly found that! Do you get your thyroid function checked regularly? That can also cause tiredness. Tea or caffeine tablets could help, but might leave you feeling more tired afterwards. I hope you find a solution that works for you!

Thanks minitata👍👍

Thanks Heidij Probably some of the problem is that I don't drink much caffeine now. I send to run on Diet Coke and tea. 3 days a week I was a newsagent and survived the long days on Diet Coke, teas and chocolate 🍫. But, along with painkillers, it appears dehydration and caffeine are also triggers fir migraines. I'll ask abou tft next time I'm at the Gp And yes, hopefully if I am smaller then I won't be as tired It's all part of the learning process, but I've learnt loads from my fs friends that's helped too 😁😁😁

Hi Poppycom... good drop! Sorry to hear you're dealing with fatigue. I realize you have in your note that fatigue is part of a chronic health condition, but have you found anything in particular to eat that help combat adrenal fatigue? I've been watching a ton of videos on YouTube from Dr. Eric Berg. He has several that discuss fatigue/adrenal fatigue in case you want to look him up. I saw you're doing low carb, but I'm not sure if you're following a keto plan. Dr. Berg is a low carb/keto advocate.

some vitamin B may help with fatigue

Chronic fatigue could mean your adrenal glands are overworked. I've been reading a lot about adrenal fatigue. Started taking natural gummy vitamins. Most store bought vitamins are synthetic and don't help us at all. Plus I can't swallow pills. I only take half a dose, because they have carbs. I've been taking Ashwagandha for a week and I feel much better and I'm sleeping well. Dr Fung is brilliant! So glad you read his book. It was an eye opener for me. I fast for 16 hours as well and if I stick to 74% fat, 22% protein, & 4% carbs I drop consistently. I had trouble maintaining that this week and lost nothing. Life goes on. :-)

Go outside for 10 minutes a day and you'll get your vitamin D; very important. :-)

Thanks everyone. I have been virtually housebound for a year, so my vit d is probably low. I didn't think of that😊 I take a multivitamin with b vits in Will ask my gp fir blood tests when I next see him... thyroid/ adrenal insufficiency etc never crossed my mind Have a good day everyone 😁

Hi, I'm new to this site and im loving it. I just started my weight loss program I would like to share it with you. Its called Thrive . I take 2 pills when I get up along with a shake finally a patch. Then im done for the day. I used to be a couch potato. lol Now i have energy without the gitters. I walk 20 minutes a day now and im so excited about the journey that im on. I would love to give anyone more information about this if you willing to give this a try.

Pills & shakes are not something that you can keep up with permanently RhondaO. Diets don't work, you have to change your way of eating. If you do something that you stop when you've lost weight you'll just put it back on and have to start over again. Over the years I've lost the same 10+ kilos several times. It's only a total change of my way of eating that has kept it off - and more.
