Nice to be starting week 6 knowing I've pretty much stuck to a healthy eating regime. It was difficult after "falling off the wagon" for a couple of days on the coast. However, I did do a lot of hiking so I guess it balanced out. I am pretty sure I am not going to make my real goal of being at least a dress size or two smaller by the wedding. I need to go shopping starting today. Was going to buy something really nice, but now I've decided it's not worth it cause I plan on losing another 15 and then it just won't fit.

Today I went closet shopping. I tried on clothes I've had for more than 20 years. Some actually fit! A lot of stuff did not. I have a lovely cranberry suit that the skirt fits, but not the top! I was trying to throw things out. I have a few outfits that I can't seem to give away. Some things fit, but a bit on the tight side. It is a confirmation of where I am weight-wise. I am almost back to where I was a year ago. Maybe 5 lbs heavier, but then when I was dieting last year, I started about 5 or 10 lbs lighter. Back then I was always hovering around 150, but could never seem to get below. My goal this time is to break that barrier and stay closer to 145 or even 140. I do know that after going through my closet I'm still not ready to go real clothes shopping, but the wedding is this coming Saturday. It's going to be a very busy week. Lunch with a friend tomorrow (unsure what I'll eat, hopefully they will have a healthy soup on the menu), then 3 separate appointments throughout the week. I will have to schedule a few shopping times in before Friday. Although I've been known to shop at the last minute. I actually hate shopping more than anything in the world. Probably because when your fat, it's simply not fun. I only remember a few times in my life when I enjoyed it, and every time I was fairly thin and everything seemed to look great.

I'm being very bitchy tonight. My husband always stops at his mother's to see how she's doing on Friday nights. He gets home by 6:15 usually, so I try to have something easy for dinner. Tonight I made everything ahead and just asked him to cook the steaks. He messes around forever, till after 7 PM before he even starts to get his french fries in the oven (I give him the option since I'm sure he'll hate my cauliflower mashed potatoes)or get the grill ready. I always like to eat by 7 PM! So now it's almost 7:30 and I'm still waiting for him to put the steaks on the grill. I start bitching about it and he gets all mad. Damn, he has no idea what it's like to be hungry to sit around on Friday night without a drink...... Really gets my goat sometimes. I think my biggest mistake was going a bit off my diet the last few days. It makes it doubly hard and I'm hungrier than usual today. I hate that I can never eat like him or not ever worry about what I put in my mouth! It's just so darned unfair and I wish he'd be more supportive. He has no idea what it's like to go without anything. I sit around for hours trying not to snack or drink waiting for dinner. He has a couple of cocktails, eats nuts, etc.
PS: finally got our steaks cooked and mine was almost completely raw. I love a rare steak but this was too much and it was grissly. My husband's steak was much better, he gave me a bite. Guess I am just having a bad night all around. Taking 2 extra ounces of wine for my uneaten steak....

Back from quick trip to the coast. I did go off my diet a bit. Had some drinks and also a couple of pieces of pizza for dinner last night. I did eat the healthiest pizza I could order. Greek pizza with red peppers, artichokes, feta and mozzarella cheese, red onions, no sauce. I have no idea how many calories though.
