Overall, I had a very good day meeting my diet goals. It's been five days since I started, and I am noticing some positive changes to my mood and energy throughout the day with little hunger. It feels like a constant flow of energy. However, I need more sleep. I am only averaging about 4, but I should be doing seven to eight to be on my best game.
I have been doing more research on LCHF diets. My main question has been about the proper macronutrient distribution. Based on how I feel and what I have been reading, I am shooting for about 5% carbs, 25% protein, and 70% fat at around 1,500 calories a day. I don't feel as good without a little more protein. I noticed that when I had very little protein yesterday. I clearly need more fiber.
I need to work on food prep. I think my success today was due to planning what I was going to eat the day before. I would like to prep food for the coming week on Saturday.

I just tried to record food on FatSecret for the first time. I see that I need to be more precise in my measurements throughout the day. I may have over did it with olive oil, but can't tell since I didn't really measure it as I poured it on my salad at lunch.
Resolution: Track more carefully throughout the day to limit guessing later when I finalize my food log.

Okay! I am totally committed to lose 40 Kgs (88 Lbs). I want to be healthier and lighter. I want to look at the mirror and feel good about how my body looks. The low carb high fat (LCHF) approach has worked for me in the past, and I believe in the science behind it. This time around I am fully committed to the low carb lifestyle.
I currently on the induction phase of the Atkins diet. My aim at this point is to enter into ketosis and remain in that state until I reach my target weight. I have all the support I need. My wife is on board and helping me prepare the foods I need to make this happen. I am truly blessed. I need to make take advantage of this supportive environment.
I am going to make FatSecret my go to place to keep track of my weight loss journey.
