Today's doin's
1/2 mile walk,
3.15 mile run, mile splits at 9:47, 10:32, 10:46 (10:22 avg)
1/4 mile walk
1/4 mile RUN, 1:32 ( about 6:08 mile pace)
1/2 mile walk cool down

Completed a 5 mile run today... first time EVER! 54:20 or 10:52 per mile average

Inspired a week ago by former Army Special Ops guy who, after complete knee reconstruction, completed 900 parachute jumps. Ultimately had both knees replaced 2 years ago... and just completed a half marathon at 49! He was the guest speaker for my daughters senior banquet. The message he sharded was to "Finish Strong" Till that night, I was content to run my 5K's. Now I want to do a half marathon! Added an extra mile o my normal 5K tonight. 32:54 for the 5K and 9:20 for the additional mile... FINISHED STRONG!

Non-stop 5K last night in 31:35. A minute slower than my PR but, I have not run in several days. Shoulder still healing from separation back in early February... did not think it would take this long. No weight lifting till that heals.

Today is a bittersweet day. It is the 1 year anniversary of my heart surgery to bypass 6 blockages. Sweet because I feel great, having lost 20 more lbs after the surgery and started running. Bitter because I got call this morning that a long time colleague passed away last night from a heart attack. He had just submitted retirement papers 2 weeks ago after 42 years of service. Sweet, because it could have been me... bitter because he was so looking forard to retirement. I had seen him a few weeks ago and noticed that he had put on a few lbs in the last few months. Dear FS friends, if you have been on the fence about committing to your fat loss journey, please dont put it off anymore.
