My son is starting his senior year in high school this fall. He plays football, and on Saturday, they had team pics and the traditional "Senior Mom" pic taken for the team's program. I hadn't been aware of this ('cause I'd never had a senior playing football before), but apparently the tradition involves the moms wearing their son's jersey in the pic. Well, I have a stringbean of a son. And let me just say...I was purty-darned excited that I fit my body into my slim-Jim's jersey. That wouldn't have happened 2 years ago and 70 pounds ago. So here I am with my boy. Fitting into his jersey. Proud mom moment, and kinda proud of me, too.
Well...I don't know if that pic will work. Not sure I got my image to imbed/upload properly, but...trust me. It fit!

I don't know what gives, and I'm not complaining, but my weight hasn't budged below 144-146 in about 6 months. I set a calorie limit for Monday - Saturday, and Sunday I eat whatever I want. Been doing that for about a year now. As of January, I quit losing weight and just began to hover/fluctuate in the same 144-146 pound range (depending on the day of the week). I always weighed more on Mondays after my Sunday splurge days and Saturday/Sunday mornings were always my lowest.
Then...this past week, I miraculously nudged below 144, by a hair, down to 143.6. Cool.
Ticked back up after my Sunday splurge, but had dipped back down to 143.6 yesterday morning, so I went ahead and logged the drop. TODAY--I'm at 142!!
I haven't done anything different. Same calorie counting Monday - Saturday. Same indulging on Sundays. No excessive extra exercising or anything. Nothing. Has. Changed. So...I don't get it, but I am not going to complain.
Let's see if my new normal range can be 142-143 for awhile. :)

Maybe you're like me and you tend to go through food phases, and I have a new snack (new to me) that I'm really enjoying right now. I watch calories as my method of choice, and I have always been a night-time snacker. I have to have my night-time snack. I just do. If you're one of those I-never-eat-anything-after-6pm types...good for you. I just couldn't survive. So. I always save up enough calories to be sure that I can work in a night-time snack. I try and save up enough for 150-200 calories.
What's working for me lately is this:
Dannon has this light greek yogurt for 80 calories. It's thick, it's *substantial* and satisfying. My two faves right now are the Vanilla flavor, and then I mix about a tablespoon of PB2 (chocolate version) in with it. That's about 22-23 additional calories. Very satisfying snack for just over 100 calories.
My other favorite (slightly more calories) is to take the strawberry cheesecake version and crumble up one square of a graham cracker on top of it, and then chop/grate up a couple of frozen hershey dark chocolate kisses and sprinkle that on top, too. Mmmmmm. Very satisfying for about 176 calories.
