My name is Susan. I am 54. I live in an assisted living facility. I have gained 60+ lbs. since my move in date, almost 3 yrs ago. My health is already compromised, I need to get this weight off and keep it off. My goal is to lose 50 lbs. I found a water exercise class called "joyful joints" designed for patients suffering from m.s. fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis... Since I have all three, it's like it was created just for me. I've been attending once or twice a week, but after weighing in at 206 lbs, I am dedicated to M-F. I go to college online, but the class is during the time I take off for lunch and a nap. Funny how things are falling into place. I want to eat healthy, not diet, for the long term. I do not want to fall into the trap of dieting and gaining. I am going to work the 12 steps around my addiction to food. Following the steps, I have battled other demons, with a positive outcome. As long as I stay vigilant, am honest and do the work, I will not fail. I am very thankful for a forum where I can hear the experience, strength and hope of others fighting the same battle. Hearing the advice of thin people is irritating at best. I try to avoid those conversations at all cost. I need encouragement, suggestions and feedback from my peers and hope to be there for you. Fatsecret may just be the answer I've been looking for since deciding to embark on this journey. I look forward to sharing my adventure with you. Let's get healthy!
