My name is Penny, and I'm a recently newlywed. I am 34 years old, and of German descent. I was raised on meat, potato, and gravy for dinner every day, and now that I am 34, it is starting to catch up with me.
I was always slender in my teens, being extremely athletic and energetic. I still am, but where my occupation use to be in the dance world, age creeps up and you can't do it forever. So, now I'm eating the same, but not burning off as many calories.
Taking control of my eating habits has been difficult, because I've never before had to watch what I ate, and so I've never learned self discipline in that respect. Learning the South Beach approach has been excellent for me, because I do not feel as though I'm missing out on anything, and sometimes I feel like I'm constantly eating.
I've tried many diets, and failed, so I hope this one works. My best friend Michelle began it at 160 pounds, and now weighs an incredible 120. She looks great, feels great, and that was all the convincing I needed.
I'm open to any supporters, and wouldn't mind having a buddy too!!
