We went to Our neighborhood's National Night Out this evening and I can honestly say that tonight was my first real test! LOTS of great "grandmother cooks around here! Pies, banana pudding, cakes, potato salads, corn casserole, lasagna, some other noodle dish that smelled AMAZING, and even MORE carb laden goodness!

So, for dinner tonight, I had pulled pork, brisket, and 6 green olives! It really wasn't as hard as I thought it would be!

Not sure how it's done in other areas, but here when we all gather together, we bring a dish to eat, and we also bring can goods to donate to the local food banks. The can goods are collected by local police officers and off duty dispatchers. It's always nice to visit with them and to share a meal.

When we got home, my bride showed me last year's picture with one of the officers and this year's shot. I hadn't really paid attention until this pic comparison, but my side "over hang" is gone!

Sounds like you did great not succumbing to all those yummy temptations! Can also see a very noticeable difference in the photos...awesome sauce!! 👍
