Haha Yahtzee!!! I just had the most incredible
workout at the gym so far and I dropped a pound even after dropping my obsessive restrictions.

Lastnight for dinner I had wings while my family ate pizza. Well guess what? I wanted some damn pizza too... so I took a couple bites and it was sooooo good and I frickin loved and appreciated the mess out of every chew I chewed before swallowing the yum to my belly. I then added 1/4 slice of pizza to my food journal and managed to come in just under 20 net carbs for the day! Go me! Lol

I really think I've been going at this all wrong this whole time and I think it may be time for me to let go of the obsessive Atkins ways.

When I was working at Walmart stocking on 3rd shift I ate like shit but still lost weight from all the physical activity I was doing. I don't see any reason why I can't see the same if not better results from working out and including food from ALL the food groups.

Like seriously screw Atkins restrictions. It's summertime and homegirl wants to enjoy some fresh fruit, and buttered corn and some motherlovin potato salad.. along with many other things like a normal human being.

I refuse to be afraid of any food any longer!!!!

Being intimidated by something that will turn into 💩 is no way to live!

I'm still going to try and not go overboard on carbs and avoid things with added sugar... but I'm not going to have my life revolve around it.

I'M FREEEEEEEEE 😁👐💗

food restrictions make you crazy. no single food group should be eliminated. I bet you can succeed at anything! Good luck! Enjoy some fruit, and all the bounty that this season has to offer.

Love your plan. Food is the solution - not the problem. What I mean is that when we are nourished by healthy foods, we do not need the rest of the stuff as often or as much. Portion control is difficult but we do learn.

Mmhmm exactly HCB! Portion control is really the only reasonable option for me. Making things off limits only makes me desire them more, which leads to a cycle of binges and self loathing... neither of which should be a side effect of eating or living. It's just crazy for me to try and live that way anymore.

Christina, just offering a reminder to factor in, an extra dose of willpower, for the cravings/urges that go along with eating carbs. I used to eat 2 bagels a night and maintain 120 lbs. exercised for at least 2 hours a day to balance. The carbs burn off quick. You know your own mind and body and you are one of the most succinct people on this site. Can't wait to watch your testimony. 💖 👍 Should I have zipped it ? 🤐

I have been dreaming of eating pizza. I have to make a plan for how I can have some pizza and then stay home for 2 days in case it kicks off the IBS. God should not have made pizza so delicious. It's just not fair.

Lol Sarah. Given my history of binging and purging there is really no normal scale to relate to as far as willpower and urges go. I would just eat whatever and puke my face off. Allowing myself to have the forbidden fruits now in small doses is just what I need to build my forever food relationship foundation on. I really feel that continued avoidance would have eventually led me to certain doom! I've def had enough of that for a lifetime 💗

Christinemeowk -- I agree: It's not sustainable to never eat pizza, pasta and other luscious foods for the rest of your life. But it IS sustainable to learn to treat these foods as ultimate splurges that have a once-a-month place in your life, and if you are on plan the rest of the time, that once-a-month splurge will do no real damage. My advice: DO NOT WEIGH YOURSELF THE DAY AFTER A SPLURGE. You'll just make yourself crazy. Splurge food tends to involve sodium and may also cause you to collect water in your bowel. Have your splurge and then weight a week to weigh-in. Think you will find you are just fine. One other thing: The naked pizza idea can be achieved deliciously by making a crustless quiche. You just whip up the custard with swiss cheese, parmesan, turkey Italian sausage and Italian seasonings. Bake it up, and then top it with warmed up marinara (choose one that is in the 45 calorie/half cup category with no added sugar or oil), and more parmesan, and it's pretty darn close to pizza. I know... the crust is so yummy.

Lol I splurged but straight up binged on Monday before having this epiphany. I weighed in and reported it here with no shame. I intend to embrace my cravings and whims and make them fit in with my daily rdi. I think replacing deprivation with moderation is going to to me a whole world of good.
