Well I am getting really close to turning 60.
Just got my annual blood test results back. From July 2022 to april 2023 I lost over 100 lbs but my LDL went from 120 to 140 and my total cholesterol was 204. Numbers that I didn’t think were high enough for statins.
This year I have zero items flagged. A1c stayed at 5.0
Ldl is 95 and total 164!
I hired a personal trainer a few months ago. Being consistent has been difficult with how often I’m on the road but I am definitely seeing improvements is my strength and flexibility.
I can’t keep 60 from coming but I can do my best to be in better shape than I was turning 50!

I think that's absolutely wonderful dear one of the main reasons that my father became a vegetarian was to increase his lifespan. one of the problems of being an individual who had giantism particularly one of his age bracket that didn't have a lot of early options before medication was an option and only surgery was available was the significant reduction in lifespan on average about 20 years. But evidence shows vegetarianism on average increases lifespan either by causal factors or direct factors (the verdict on which is still out ) but protecting our health is the single best of vantage that we can have over age. now daddy still passed at 65 over complications over enlarged organs but we had him longer than they expected as he was one of the first individuals that had the proton beam surgery for giantism but the doctor said that his good health was a factor in his longevity all the same. so good for you for working on increasing your health I'm sorry for not fixing vernacular and language mistakes I'm afraid talking about daddy makes me upset.

Thank you OTB. Stranger huh? Yeah I guess I don’t get on here much. Have completely lost the work life balance :-) Leah no reason to apologize at all. My Mom passed from ALS a few years ago. She made it to 83 with the last bunch of years in a wheel chair. She ate well and was very active until ALS so it goes to show we can’t control everything so we might as well control what we can I guess. Sorry you lost your dad at too early an age.

164 cholesterol is lower than mine, even if it is on the higher end of normal, and I am less than half your age…and my doctor said “good job.” Really, good job? So lenient, given how unhealthy people can be…let’s not go by comparison! Lol doctors do sometimes go by comparison instead of actual stats…not funny actually, saying lol to cope. Less than 150 is my goal at my young age, even if it is still normal. On the good side, I am so short that only half an inch is a difference in what’s ok for BMI. Yes!!!
