Awesome, I am so glad you were able to eat your dinner and enjoy it without having any issues. I know it's not the same problem but my mother has dentures and so she's not able to enjoy many of the meals that she used too. One of the things she does so that she can still enjoy many of the same dishes is that she will cut them up in the food processor into small bits. of course it makes the food look awful, but it does mince it to small enough pieces that she's able to consume it quite easily and of course it tastes the same it just doesn't look very nice. So unless you're having company over no one will know the difference and you could enjoy your meal without any safety concerns. I'm not sure if this would be helpful to you but I thought I would share just in case. 😀

I do empathize with you though sometimes I'll suddenly have issues swallowing even on water apparently it's got a funny name but can happen with MS randomly. Luckily 🤞 it's not normally one of my issues it just strikes me randomly.

Thanks Leah. That is helpful! My disease is similar to muscular dystrophy. It really sucks sometimes. I appreciate all tips as this is new to me and I’m still adjusting.

I have a disease that has impacted my chewing and swallowing (called dysphasia). One thing I’ve been taught is to add moisture to food such as a sauce or gravy. Chopped tomatoes and shredded lettuce and diced cucumbers (peeled) are good for sandwiches and Sandwich Thins instead of regular bread. After every bite I take a sip of water. I can eat hamburger patties with steak sauce. You get the idea.

I had to have a procedure to my throat so I could swallow better. I know the struggle. That looks delicious!

I'm a nurse and can't help but give you some information. You need to see a gastroenterologist to put it in laymans terms, your throat stretched. (The procedure is so simple and gives instant relief)Esophageal dilation is a procedure that can open up narrow areas of the esophagus. The esophagus is the tube that carries food to your stomach. When this tube is too narrow, it is hard for food and liquids to pass through. This makes it hard to swallow. I hope that you will pursue this as it truly will help you. God's blessings to you!

Thanks to all of you for the comments and suggestions. I have necrotizing myopathy which is a progressive degenerative disease. My doctors are treating the symptoms but there is no cure. I am handling it and continuing to learn so all suggestions are very much appreciated.
