Considering I quit smoking 3 weeks ago, I am not displeased with no weight loss and very happy with no weight gain! Hopefully the worst of the nicotine cravings are behind me and I can stop snacking and get back to losing the last 11 pounds.

Quitting smoking is one of the best things you can do for yourself. Stay strong! It is hard to deny yourself too much at once, so if you slip a little on your eating plan give yourself some grace. You can concentrate on WOE after you are more secure in giving up smoking.

One thing before I head out for my second leg. I just set to following you and ran into your journal post about quitting smoking. I am so proud of you! You will never regret that. It changed me. What was hardest on me, was that it was a psychological drag (downer). I hated every cigarette for over forty years. I was so determined to quit, but could never get past the next drink, that I quit both six months apart - drinking first — who needs them… that was twenty years ago. Like dieting, it is different for a lot of us. I believe determination is the single greatest difference to accomplishing any goals. I believe that it is a constant, and NOT a difference for everybody - a sort of baseline! Aside from anomalies, I think determination wins the race more more than any other effort. And yes, those cravings, if you are still getting them, will not last too much longer. That is when I started walking. When nothing else would distract me from thinking about my cravings, a long walk would would center me and I would be okay again. The cravings only lasted about a month for me :)
