Four pounds lighter! Yay! Excellent work! I love sourdough. I love making sourdough. It can stink up the kitchen a little while it ferments, but MAN! It tastes soooo yummy fresh outa the oven! :-D

Great blog! I really like this philosophy about good food made with top quality ingredients. What do you think, fuel or entertainment? I try to get the pleasure of great tasting food, without too many calories... Not always possible lol! I hope you had a great day!

Hi Jessyline! Happy weekend! There is no reason why food cannot be fuel AND entertainment. As you said before, you would not put gasoline with all kinds of impurities in your car and expect it to run great, so why should we expect our body to function well if we feed ourselves junk? I think most of the time I try to limit calories without losing the entertainment aspect. For example, I hate hard-boiled eggs but love soft-boil eggs. The nutritional value is the same. So if I want to eat an egg, why not take the extra care and make a soft-boil egg which I enjoy? Of course, there are times such as a few weeks ago when boyfriend was over I made roast pork (free-range)! There is also a difference between losing weight for health and losing weight for "vanity". My doctor is completely satisfy with my numbers. If I have some food entertainment now and then, I am not hurting my health. It may take longer for me to get into the skinniest pair of pants in the closet, but I am not going to give up the pleasure of eating. I think in general I agree with the sourdough guy's philosophy, but each of us has to find our own balance based on our priorities, metabolism (some people can get away with more), and body makeup.

I sometime have this dilema, between the elaborate meal, maybe a little higher in calories, but oh so good! (and still healthy), and the fuel for life, food made to sustain my body through the day. It's like french genes against ayurvedic science lol! Like you I will never give up the pleasure of eating...
