Some people can do it, but it can also really derail your diet. If I want something, I just fit it in to my plan. Yesterday I had Chickfila and still lost. I also did a lot of walking. If you want something plan for it. Most naturally skinny people eat what they want. They just stop when they are satisfied. I have to measure out everything to know what I'm eating. Have a treat, just don't have it all the time. You have to find a way to live your life, enjoy food but maintain a healthy weight.

Thank you Suzi :) I have a long way to go to find my happy medium where food is not my enemy lol

I have lots of cheat days, but none of them are ever planned - LOL. Ditto with what Suzi says.

Many people do, but for me it doesn't work. I agree with suzi161, if I want something bad, well I make it fit into my diet.

That's kinda what I think Nina, if I completely deprive myself I don't feel like continuing...

I don't at this point. I'm sure I will eventually, though. I think with calorie-counting it may be a little different, though. If I eat higher calories at one point, then I may lower calories at another point. Sweets with high calories are out at this point, though. The big thing is, you have to do what works for you. It would be better for you to have a taste or small portion then to deny yourself and later binge. Another thought--have a little, go for a walk or exercise, record what your calories where vs. what you burned off. The biggest thing--don't go completely off of your diet. It would be better to have a cheat day then to go completely off of it. Don't beat yourself up. You're doing a great job :)

Make your own chocolate syrup with baking chocolate squares, heavy cream, butter, and powdered sweetener (stevia, splenda, aspartame, whatever).

I always have at least 1 cheat meals per week. I am not sure I would make it without them! I look forward to it during the weekend since during the work week it is easier to stay on track. The thing I keep in mind is that 1 lb of fat is equal to 3500 calories. When I add in the overages during a 7 day period I have a really good idea if I did any damage. So say if I stay under my RDI% 5 days out of a 7 day week (include exercice) then I know there is a deficit there so having a cheat meal is not gonna hurt but if I was over my RDI% 5 of 7 days then I know I may gain a little bit if I have my cheat meal. This is a great app to do this calculation!

Find a substitute like fruit with cereal and yogurt. It will satisfy the craving of sugar with natural sugar. Get rid of the things you crave out of the house so you aren't tempted.

My husband eats goodies so they are in the house, also some things that are tempting is really just starchy and that is ALL my ASD children will eat is starchy food :(
