Day 4 musings...

I am alive, barely. I wanted to sleep all the hours, wrapped in my fluffy comforter, in my nice cool, dark bedroom. Instead, I got up. I meal prepped last night (Go me!) and it was really convenient this morning. I did crispy tofu, Chinese 5 spice stir fry vegetables, and a small sweet potato with cinnamon and 1/2 tsp of honey. Not gonna lie, opened the container to smell it this morning. Even cold, it smells so good.

I went outside last night. I walked all four of my dogs. Then, I took my 2 spriest gals to the dog park and threw their toys for them. They hobble when they run; it's adorable.

I have been surviving in this jungle, attempting to source out the best tips for weight loss and weight management. My numbers have been really good this week when tested. I think pushing all the extra fluid has definitely helped. I picked up some tea with caffeine last night. Currently sipping it. I am feeling more human than human right now.

I have made some good choices and some bad choices this week with food. However, the rationale behind my choices was sound. Moving forward, I have a commitment to myself to make a greater effort to pack a good lunch. Dinner is easier to control right now. However, I know, come next month, when everyone is back to school and working, I'm going to have to meal prep again. Sigh.

I slipped up and had a cigarette last night. I was really angry at myself. But, I realized, I have managed to give up a lot of vices over the years. I can do this. I did it with all the others, I can do it with this. So, I have restarted my non-smoking countdown from last night. Today, I will not smoke with me. (I really hope future me has quit smoking and mentally high fives herself)

I don't know anything personally about quiting smoking, but I understand it to be one of the most challenging life changes possible. Hang in there and, as others have told you, be kind to yourself. It is a war not just a battle to get to the health you desire! Each skirmish you win is a bit closer to where you want to be. Pet your pups, and while you are at it, give yourself a big pat on the back for all you are doing!
