Day 1 musings...
I am so great at solving puzzles and problems; yet, I cannot focus on solving my own. I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in March 2018. I was really focused at first. I lost 50 lbs. and my numbers were good. Then, I fell off the wagon.
See, I have to lose weight. I have to overhaul my diet. I have to watch my cholesterol intake. I have to quit smoking. I have to become more active. All of these "have to" mandates have the rebel inside of me clawing at my skin to break out. I have always done what I wanted. Now, my body is betraying me. I have to do what my body wants...and I do not want to.
My hope is this will provide the catharsis necessary to actually listen to my body. If not, the recipes look promising...

@ Paullay thanks! I don't typically eat Maruchan ramen; but I am a little low on funds after hiking through Colorado for the last 2 weeks. After 7-24-19, no more Maruchan ramen cardboard. And, yes, I agree, I feel better when I avoid all processed food and only eat lean protein with veggies and fruits. I do good on this for a minute then my inner child gets petulant.

@ MadameSting I feel great after 3 weeks with few carbs. The only day I ate carbs I was really low on energy so my body is starting to burn what I need. I am actually on the OMAD one meal a day diet but I keep the carbs to a minimum.

Diablo, you are pushing your own diet; and you do multiple posts too. So please stop pointing fingers. Also: WebMD is wrong, losing weight may reduce stress on the body and help mitigate the problems caused by type 2 diabetes; but restricting carbs and keeping protein intake moderate, is more likely to reverse T2D.

MadamSting, I get the rebellion! Even though I knew I was at strong risk for T2D, I ate as I pleased, fed my carb addiction, and gained 40 lbs which I hauled around for 10 years. I lost half of it a couple of times, but couldn't keep the weight off. When my A1c test in July 2017 showed I had crossed into overt T2D, I finally gave up my attitude and got to work. I restricted carbs to 20 per day, moderated protein, and watched my calories. Within 4 months my A1c was back to normal. I have been maintaining for 18 months without medications.
