Looking for advice: I joined my children in an activity call Gravity Ropes at an Entertainment Center about 2.5 weeks ago. The "Ropes" included a zip line at the very end which left me in a squatting position in which I had to then stand up with no support. I struggled greatly and experienced severe knee pain when going from the squat to the stand. I now have continual pain in both knees with swelling and severe pain when I go from sitting to standing. I had surgery on my left knee last February for a meniscal tear, and had I known the zip line left me in a squatting position like that, I would not have gone on the ropes. This time, the right knee has more pain than the left, but both knees are affected. Any idea what I may have done/torn/injured? I am female, 5'5" and weigh 247 pounds, so I know my weight is a factor. I have an appointment to see my doctor the first week of August and will get her to order an MRI at that time.

I'm so sorry - no advice but I'm having pain in my right knee so I'm interested in the ideas too.

It could be strain in both, I'm a knee pain sufferer myself, mild arthritis and my patellas don't track properly. Have you been icing and just doing a little bit of walking? Walking is the best movement for the knees, it helps move the synovial fluid in the knee joint which is good for the tissue. If it was me, I would be icing multiple times a day for 10 to 15 minutes, and before and after walking. I just finished a course of euflexxa injections in both knees and that is has helped, not totally pain free, but I can get off the toilet now without pain (haha). So ice, keep moving, and keep yourself in a calorie deficit, weight loss will really help your knees. 🤗

Rest, Elevation, and Ice - use ice until the knees are red, then rest. You need to reduce the inflammation, it weakens the knees and prolongs the pain. I put ice in a zip loc bag and tie a bandanna to hold it in place. Use Aleve or ibuprofen; avoid Tylenol, it won't reduce inflammation and causes liver damage.

had same problem ice it rest it can take 3 weeks. as long as you can bare weight it sounds like you sprained it are twisted it. don't do that again lol if yo have a walker you can put it around the toilet having the front end back to the wall were the tank is or if you don't have tank same place, leaving the arms next to the sides of the toilet. don't but the walker the direction of how you would use it, it's the opposite way

Feel better. I have a wonky knee right now too. I hope the doc brings better news than you are expecting.
