My cardio has been my biggest inspiration lately. I can now bike 20 kms without feeling like I am going to die. Hills that used to look like mountains are now nothing to me and I find myself challenging myself to new areas of town with bigger and nastier hills. I love it and am going to look into buying a really decent road bike.... I used to feel too fat to do this, and now I feel great!

I'm curious - were you competing as a cyclist or another sport? And it's the same with running--it's funny how something that bested you merely a week or two ago now seems like nothing. I'm still not there yet, but I know it's coming!

Hockey was my sport. I used to ride alot for conditioning. I forgot how much I loved it. I haven't told the hubby yet, but I went out and bought a realllly nice bike yesterday. I will break it to him gently. I work in the hockey industry now creating programmes and such, and am now feeling well enough again to play at a somewhat competitive level. You will get there too! I think when I was younger, I was so fit, I didn't have to think too much about my weight, and then as I had a family and slowed down, I was still in my old eating habits but not exercising even half as much. Then I just ballooned outta control!
