One day of good eating won’t help, one day of bad eating won’t damage. What you consistently do is what matters

I don't think they realize that putting temptation in front of us isn't kind. My husband was very proud of the gift he got me: 10 Dove Dark Chocolate bars. So hard to not go "WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU!?" He doesn't quite understand struggle I now have.... try to limit myself, or just eat them all at once to get the out of the house.

I agree with Coni - I think few if any people who haven't spent the better part of their life dealing with weight issues truly understand the panic that sets in when gifting us with food. Of course, the end goal is to adjust our relationship with food so that everything can be enjoyed guilt free as long as moderation is practiced. But it takes a while and a LOT of maturity to not shriek, "are you out of your flipping mind!" while we're still rolling around on the training wheels.

Or just say thank you dear— I’m full now but will eat them later. Then throw them out. My friend persists in buying me chocolate donuts even though He knows I choose not to eat them. So I choose not to tell him that I toss them.

Rosio19. I make this great cranberry walnut fudge once in a while. I make a 1/4 -1/2 batch to begin with then cut it up and freeze it. I eat one piece a day, BF eats 2, until it’s gone. Usually 3-4 days. Portion control allows us to enjoy the things we love in a controlled manner. No guilt, no cheat meals or cheat treats required.

Rosio I truly appreciate all you say. It’s truly the way to live and exactly what I do!! It really is the good consistent habits that firm who we are. You should’ve a food therapist. Seriously! People NEED your advice and message!!!!

Kenna... I'd would love the recipe for the fudge... Nope! Don't send it.. I'd eat it all. I have NO control at the moment.

Dboza—.making a quarter or a half batch of treats really does help a lot with portion control. I make cakes in small 6 inch round or square pans— seldom make conventional size unless I’m having company or going to an event. Same with cookies. Seldom make more than 6-8. Preventative damage control. Really works. If you ever want the recipe, just remind me. I made it for my friends at the pool for Valentine’s Day. 2 pieces in a V-day decorated box with ribbon and the whole decorator thing. They loved just being remembered.

Thank you wifey you are awesome 😍 I already have a job that allows me to be brutally honest to people 💞😎 (I’m also passionate about that topic 🤨) if I decide to change careers I would definitely consider a nutritionist certificate/degree 😏
