I was frustrated and discouraged a few days ago when I stepped on the scale at my cousin's house. I thought it was hopeless and ate inappropriately the next day. I punished myself I few hours later on the treadmill for my slip-up. Thanks to everyone who told me to hang it there and not give up. I changed my long-term goal to a short-term one. I hope to lose 10 lbs. I don't know by when but realistically it may not happen for a couple of months. I can live with that as long as I'm trying hard. Vegas trip is May 17th so I plan on buying my new bathing suit by then. Wish me luck.

I know how it feels when you get on the scale and it's an absolute let down. And I know how it feels to want to eat everything you want to just after that "because what's the point anyway". I hear you. It's hard. But when the weight does start coming off, and you do see progress, it's a feeling of almost euphoria, isn't it? It's hard sometimes. I send you strenght. You can do it.

I second that! DO NOT GIVE UP-it only leads to more distress. I have been on a mission since last August and have lost ONLY 4lbs-the last 3 this week. After tweaking my "diet" and exercise regime, I think I may have hit on a formula that works for me. There is a formula that will work for you too. This site and the people and tools (diet and exercise calendar and journal functions) have kept me on the wobbly and meandering road toward my fitness goal. I read your profile and empathize with working in the entertainment industry. It is an unforgiving environment for the size 6 and above.

Also, when you weigh yourself on a different scale, you may weigh more or less. Different scales are calibrated differently. That's why it's important to only weigh on your usual scale for the most accurate results.
