Again, I actually started the diet on Wednesday, February 20th; so I'm a full three days into the diet. I couldn't figure out how to change the initial weigh in date; so the beginning of my journal will look a little funny.
Day 1, Wednesday: Started the diet at 1:00pm weighing in at 250 lbs. Extreme headache lasting from late afternoon until bedtime. I did have hunger pangs and the headache made it impossible to sleep; so I took a pain pill and slept fine after that.
Day 2, Thursday: Weighed in at 246.8 lbs. Trace amounts of ketones in urine. Extreme headache still present and accompanied by joint and muscle pain mostly in my lower legs. Started researching simple recipes to make the meal plan more interesting. The only challenge with the Atkins diet is the menu can be boring when you are as lazy about cooking as I am. So, a 3.2 pound loss so far and I'm very happy with progress so far.
Day 3, Friday: Weighed in at 245.6 lbs. Moderate amounts of ketones in urine. Headache is very mild almost non-existent; Joint pain has intensified especially in my knees and ankles. Hunger is non-existent. The research I did yesterday on recipes has helped me from getting bored with the menu. I actually started cooking one meal myself yesterday. Quite an accomplishment for me. I'm at a 4.4 pound loss so far and am happy with my progress so far.
Day 4, Saturday: Weighed in at 243.4 lbs. Large amounts of ketones in urine. Headache is gone. Joint pain is very mild. Experiencing no hunger pains at all and drinking tons of water as the diet plan requires. Seeing a 6.6 lbs loss in three and half days is quite exciting; but being the over zealous gal I am... I still want to see more weight "fall off". I'm at a 6.6 pound loss and am happy with progress so far.
