Remember 5 yrs or so ago, when you criticized yourself for your weight gain and when you looked at your face in the mirror? Now you look at that photo of yourself and say: "Wow! I looked GOOD then" That's pretty much what I am going through with my weight. I remember criticizing and wishing and berating myself for the "extra" pounds... Now I've gone through menopause and that pretty much shut my thyroid down. I gained 30 lbs (I still didn't really "look" fat) and was depressed because of it. Now I am on thyroid hormones and lost all the weight, plus 5 extra lbs. At one point (when they still tried to adjust the dosage) I became so thin that it actually scared me! Finally I am able to keep my weight steady around 125 lbs, which looks great, but my skin is sagging and wrinkling on my upper arms, face and legs. I weighed 155 lbs at my heaviest, which is still reasonable for 5'9" but it was WAY to fat in my perspective... Now I look back at pics from when I weighed 135 lbs, even 140, and I wish I had that back, because that was certainly okay.... Be careful what you wish for, or put yourself through, because as a woman, too thin gets pretty ugly when you're over 50... Jambo
