How are things going with your thyroid? Have you asked your doctor about the best type of diet to lose weight? Just wondering, twice I've had hyperthyroidism. Each time after it stabilized I gained weight. I lost the weight the first time on Weight Watchers, and the 2nd time I just counted calories and kept track of protein grams and tried to get 25 grams of fiber a day which I rarely did unless I ate lots of blackberries or raspberries.

Going down during the holidays...Good work!

My blood work was stellar other than elevated AST/ALC which I am chalking up to fat breaking down and releasing toxins. The doctor knew nothing about low carb or Keto which did not surprise me being that she's covered by my insurance. She actually had to dose down my T3 due to the weight loss which is still going painfully slow. On the other hand I'm not gaining and were mid holiday season! I'm testing in another month to see if those liver enzymes improve. I have read that lots of green leafies should do the trick.

Looped: My doctor didn't know anything about KETO either when I mentioned that I was seeing so many people following that WOE. He did tell me NOT to do a high fat diet and to try to stick to a low fat diet. His recommendations for my diet is because of my health issues. Keto sure seems to work for lots of people but I'm actually glad my doctor is against it - I can't stick to a WOE where I can't have carbs - at least for very long. My New Year's resolution will be to try to eliminate processed foods, especially processed foods with carbs as much as possible.

Beet kvass is good for the liver!

Processed foods are the scourge of the earth @Fritzy so good on you! I wish it was possible to buy beet greens without the beets. I love the tops and the vegetable but the beets are too high in carbs. @Fritzy have you had the same experience with liver enzymes?

Looped: not sure about liver enzymes. My doctor orders lab tests for me about 4 times a year. I have print outs of some of the results (sometimes I forget to ask for them). Do you know what specific lab test would show that? My particular issue is inflammation. My doctor has told me all the tests are normal (Except for inflammation being significantly high) or not significant if slightly out of the normal range - I noticed my red blood cell count in September was high. I also saw while my total cholesterol was okay at 177 that HDL was low at 49 and LDL was high at 108. I have that on my list of questions to ask my doctor on Thursday. It's so hard to eliminate processed foods, but I know I can decrease them significantly.

I have hypothyroidism (Hashimoto’s Thyroidosis -the immune system destroys the tissue of the thyroid gland. I don’t have much gland left. So I’m on thyroid for the rest of my life. We just lowered my dose because my FSH was so low they couldn’t measure it. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to resume walking since June when I rated having some sort of problems with arthritis in my hips or lumbar problems. Makes it hard to exercise when last week I was actually walking with a walker. Have graduated back to a cane for support. The one thing I don’t like about the exercise feature of FZs is they only have power walking, not the 1.75-2.00 mph I can go. So I log half the time I walk.

It's great that you are still trying to walk in spite of the difficulties. Hope you start feeling better.
