Hmm, one day back into careful eating and the weight drops nicely. After some appallingly slack weeks, I need to stop kidding myself that I can do this without logging everything I eat.

I have had the urge to eat the world for a while now and careful logging and lots of distraction will be required.

I have had a setback with my injured knee of recent months. An MRI shows my right knee is pretty well worn out and I'm advised to forget the rowing machine and doing heavy weights with my legs. Swimming has been suggested as a cardio alternative, but the prospect doesn't fill me with delight as I am a poor swimmer and feel self-conscious about this.

Thanks, Saskia. Persistence seems to be the key, as our weight does fluctuate a lot in the short term, sometimes for no apparent reason. I find that having to be thoughtful about everything I eat wears thin after a while as I am a continual grazer by nature. Gotta knuckle down though, as I have put back on nearly half of the weight I lost.
