Tried something a little different this week. I decided to work on my body's set-point. I've been on an extremely low calorie diet for 3 months and figured that my body had adjusted to that level of caloric intake. So, I ate 1,800 calories one day and 2,200 the next. Then I dropped to 400 to 900 for the next three days and only ate during a one hour window (basically a 23-1 IF). I think it worked. Dropped 4 lbs this week. I think that I'll vary my intake for a while. Maybe even try a alternate day IF in addition to a 16-8 eating plan. Just one big experiment. I think that by varying what I do, it keeps it interesting and more likely that I'll be able to keep on plan. Best wishes to all my FS buddies and I hope y'all have a wonderful week.

It's good to change things up. Just keep healthy and feed your body well when not fasting.

Nice job!...I think you are onto something. I was on 1200 calories and after a couple of months I stopped losing, even gained a bit : (

yeah its funny how your body can adjust to the calorie and excercise and halt. Im concerned though that people will take it to far, as under 1500 a day is not safe, im trying to keep mine around that as i excerise a lot and to go lower would not be good as i need the energy, be safe :)

Here's what happens, when you are extremely low calorie, or low carb for an extended period, your body will know that energy is not incoming. It knows this because there is no large insulin spike from incoming carbohydrates. Insulin is the switch flipping you from storing fats to burning fat. As you are in fat burning mode for an extended period, your body assumes it is winter and will slow down the rate at which it is willing to burn through its fat stores. Cell repair and non-essentials are postponed while maintaining core services to the body. This results in ever slowing...but continual weight loss. When you spike Insulin with a large carbohydrate intake, your body knows that summer is now here, and that it has gone from fat storing to fat burning. Anything postponed is now underway and you burn fat stores at an optimal level.....then as you go back to your low intake diet, it slows again. Typically this takes around 7 days. So what to do?...you could hit the spike once every 7 days to maintain fat loss at a higher rate, while ensuring cell repair and other non-essential body functions are also in order.
