Saturday thoughts: Active recovery day today ~ late night movie last night to see the 4k restoration of Alligator (1980) in theaters. 🐊

I’ll carb load a little tonight (+ get good sleep) to get ready for quad focused leg day tomorrow. I’m really trying to hit 230lbs (104kg) on barbell back squat - 225lbs has been feeling good and I want to see if I can push the weight up. I definitely utilize hack/pendulum squat for more quad activation but I love a good back squat 🥰

My gym is having a body building posing coarse in October with ifbb judges and local ifbb pros in men’s classic physique, bikini, figure, and wellness divisions + coaches. So I’m trying to lean out before then so I can get some physique/posing feedback from some of the coaches once we unwrap the package from my bulk. Really excited about it and possibly getting more serious about stepping on stage.

I’m in week 2 of my cut and I’m chugging along at -2.5 to -3lbs per week. I haven’t had to start a second cardio session yet but, that will come. Still feeling strong and my calories aren’t too low yet. Seeing more definition in my delts and obliques which is alway fun! Waist measurement is down - and my arms, chest, hips, and thighs are bigger which means I’ve put muscle on in those areas compared to two years ago at the same weight. Woo!

Also FINALLY catching a break from the heat wave today so it’s a perfect day for a hike. It’s been 104*F (40*C) with 86-90% humidity for 1-2 weeks - today it’s 84*F (28*C) with 93% humidity so I’m going to take advantage of it. I feels like you’re breathing in steam while outside and my glasses fog up when I leave my house lol 😂

Honestly, I’ll probably miss it in 5 months once it’s winter. Where I live it gets down to -15*F (-26*C) or colder and the humidity means that we get a lot of ice and freezing fog + snow on top of the ice which makes for dangerous conditions. I feel like I get colder way easier than when I was younger.

Nice job & plan! I noticed that with the cold, too. It feels like my bones get cold sometimes. When that happens, it calls for a hot shower/bath to warm up...lol.

Yes! Absolutely the best thing to do. I’ve really considered wanting to move to somewhere with less humidity and warmer temperatures. I’ve experienced 100*F with 8% humidity before visiting CO and it was AMAZING. I didn’t even break into a sweat after being outside for an hour. Where I live the “feels like temp” at 100*F with 90% humidity is 129*F (not even joking) and your stand outside for 10 minutes and you’re covered in sweat. So yeah! My bucket list is the desert 🌵 at this point in my life (aka warm all year long and low humidity).

I live in SC. It's the same with humidity here. Killer! I experienced the same thing while visiting Mexico in the month of June years ago. I got sunburned (even in my hair part) without even breaking a sweat. I will be glad to see fall, but dread winter as well. Anything below 70 degrees & I need a sweater...lol.
