Really sad today. Gained 200g, didn't lose any centimeters. I am so confused, because I was actually under my calorie goal for most of the week and then just had a milkshake yesterday since I knew I had been under my calories all week. Anyone else experienced this before? Please make me feel better 😞

Yes of course, definitely not because of the milkshake. So many factors that could cause fluctuations. Im sure just weighing 30 minutes later would have changed things! Just stick to your goals, milkshake included and before you know it you will be back down and some more!

Don't know what your daily calorie in take is but if you restrict your calories too much especially if you eat under 1200 calories a day, your body sometimes goes into a storing mode and holds on to everything it can, thinking it is not going to get anymore food. Also depends on where you are in your cycle and no matter how low the calories refined carbs can make you retain water, don't give up carry on being consistent and you will definitely see results, just be patient and be kind to yourself, a milkshake with in your calories is nothing to feel guilty about😁🤗

Thank you so much to you both. Hopefully next week will be better. @CharmaineSchmidt I actually think I may have been taking in too little calories. Our bodies are funny things.

@CharmaineSchmidt - how would one come out of eating too little calories, without gaining much weight? and how long would it take to get your body into fast burning? this was me - eating too little calories.. I'm trying to up my caloric intake - taken alot of intentionality because we form bad eating habits so quickly.. I'm staying away from the scale until I'm eating enough calories per day...

I too fell into this very bad habit of eating too little calories(under 1200 a day) and found that it would result in initially loosing some weight but then I would go into serious binge mode and eat uncontrollably, which was my bodies way of telling me I was eating too little and yes I did gain some weight at first when I started eating between 1400 and 1600 calories a day, but I could then maintain it and not crave junk continuously and not go into binge mode. It is a very tricky balance between keeping a healthy calorie deficit to loose weight and eating too little. And everyone's body reacts differently, some people can eat under 1200 forever and loose fine, others like me crash and burn😁🤗

If I may ask are you predominately on the low calorie diet or keto? Do you do any intermittent fasting? That helps me a lot if I can see that I am in ketosis. However I also picked up 250g the last time i weighed a couple of days ago and then took my scale and boxed it. I am trying to weigh less often… the daily weighing plays with my head, however it seems that you are weighing weekly? Don’t get discouraged, I always tell myself what is the alternative… this is the only way to push on and monitoring ones “eating” habits. Best of luck I am rooting for you… I know this is such a emotional journey for many of us. 🦋

It’s normal… out bodies are always changing… water retention.. hormonal changes……normal.. The scale is not realistic… I hardly ever weigh myself… it plays with my mind ! I do strength training … build muscle and eat healthy…

Before ovulation and before shark week, after eating refined carbs which I guess includes sugar I can retain up to 1kg water or however you want to phrase it! Sometimes I only lose weight in the 7 days following my period and maintain or lose very very slowly until shark week. It happens! Make a mental note of what foods and hormonal changes have on your weight, it helped me keep my head in the game.

experienced the same this week. still within my weekly caloric allowance but actually picked up 400gr. the only difference is I didn't exercise the entire week. very annoying but I'm persevering. please keep it up.😊

@Ladybug#1, I am only doing low calorie at the moment since I don't have the time to exercise. Haven't tried keto or intermittent fasting. What fasting intervals do you do?

@chrissie1980 and @marelicsabai, thank you! I only weigh once a week, but that creates this expectation that I would have lost between 500g and 1kg in the week and if it doesn't happen, I'm totally floored.

Stop checking your progress via your weight . While you burn fat you also gain muscle. It’s takes a lot longer than a week . But stick to your goals and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise . Good luck on your journey .

Could be water retention or hormones, maby tummy not going regular...could be a lot of reasons. Just keep going, dont let this demotivate you. It happens to all of us ✨️

I would not worry about 200g for a second. Its basicly nothing. Keep pushing you are smashing it
