When I was seeing my personal trainer, (and i was thinner) he had me taking at least 1000mg of vitamin C everyday, just because all the lifting and exercise can really run down your body liek you're saying! so, if you're not doing that already, it might be worth a try... I hope you get better!

ouch! must be really painful! nipples are so sensitive!! you can apply vitamin E to accelerate healing, with aloes juice.
I read you have time, so maybe you can help me. i should post this in hell week forum, but I'm here so..
can you tell me how to breath during the burpees? I feel like I don't breath at all until the final jump, and I have to take breaks because of that. when are we supposed to inhale, exhale? thank you for your answer. I do the 1000 tonight...

Hmmm... I haven't really thought about it. Usually I inhale on the 'lowering' parts and exhale during the 'lifting' parts of an exercise. I would say inhale on the way down, exhale when you push your feet out to a push-up position, inhale when you lower for the pushup, exhale when you push off for the pushup, inhale as you bring your feet back under you, and exhale as you jump. That's a lot to remember, but the most important part is JUST BREATHE. As long as you're getting in air you'll be okay. Holding your breath is definitely a bad idea with burpees, you could become dizzy doing that much exercise without breathing.

My goodness, I never would have guess that is possible. That must have been terrifically painful. I wonder if there are fabrics that are less hurtful? You know, when I was a runner in the Jurassic Period, most of my guy friends wore tight shirts when running. Maybe they did this to avoid the chaffing you describe? Have you tried wearing a tighter shirt? I wonder, also, if they have manly breast coverings to help you through that "nipple burn." As for boosting your immunity, all I know is to keep your protein high, take B12 supplements along with Vitamin C, and get plenty of rest. Sleep is the most helpful ingredient to building immunity. I wish you all the best.

actually I can't inhale when I bring my feet after the pushup, this movement of my legs pushes the air out. I follow you for the rest, it makes sense, but I have this trouble with the last part. I'm gonna work on that. breathing properly is half the exercise, and I know (because I'm a damned smocker) I have to find the good rythm if I want to complete set without collapse!!!

Hmmm... then you might bring your feet up, pause to inhale, then jump and exhale.

oh man, I didn't know this could happen to a man! (glad we are immune and thanks for sharring by the way) I must admit this same thing happens when a woman nurses and w/ my first I was so scared and new to it also. Kinda nice to know it CAN happen to men(we're even) lol but only the small population that runs huh? lol I hope you figure things out AFTER you get better. I have also read ppl get sick less when they work out? Maybe you were overdoing it?

Ewwww-makes me go weak in the knees-I've endured chapped nipples when I was running long distances and it ain't pretty. Good to know they "grow" back though--ewww ugh! Bandaids are your friend-or duct tape-like Wendy O'Williams. It's very punk and masochistic :)
I thought working out is supposed to boost your immune system? I have not been sick in two years (touch wood) since I got serious with the workouts. I do take an enormous array of supplements though.
Almost wishing for a sore throat so I can eat all the fro-yo I want. Yum, yum, yum!
Hope you feel better very soon!

It boosts your immune system unless you're doing too much too soon... which I was/am/will probably keep doing.

Oh, and I'm sure all the diabetics in my neighborhood hate me because I buy up all the little round finger stick band-aids at the pharmacy for protection purposes. :)

Time to buy a "Bro" or a "Manssier"! Why can't men have jogging bra type things? Unless you LIKE the idea of ripping duct tape off your nipples. EEEEE! Enjoy your fro-yo - maybe it would make your nipples feel better, too! I don't think I've typed the word nipples so much before. Fun! Nipples, nipples, nipples! hehe

LOL! I can't stop thinking of The Office... when they did the "charity" run and Andy had tape and cotton all over his nipples... But they didn't help... "Ahhh! It's starting!" Lmao. Ah, I love that show... I hope you, and your little nipples, feel better soon.

Your use of "true Story" amuses me more than is reasonable thanks to Barney from How I Met Your Mother. Your journal is now officially narrated by Neil Patrick Harris in my head.
