I have been pondering my personal struggle with exercising for the past few days and truly beating myself up over it. I view my lack of daily committment to working out as failing in my journey and I don't like that feeling at all. When I take a step back and look at all I have achieved so far in this journey, I can certainly say this is NOT failure by any means.
My reduction in my cholesterol and sodium, my total awareness of what I was eating then and what I am eating now to have significantly improved my nutritional intake to the point where my blood work is on its way to my doc removing me from my high blood pressure meds and cholesterol meds.
I have altered my cooking methods and redeveloped many of our family favorites to healthier standards.
I have quit smoking and drinking which then led me to wanting to lose weight in the first place.
My weight loss log looks like a roller coaster ride and it certainly has been, but since Jan 4, 2011 I have lost 8 lbs and that is just fine. I don't think that is too damn bad. Is it enough??? For me, yes it is! Is it fast enough??? For me, yes it is! Do I have a date certain when I need to have lost X lbs??? No I do not!!! Am I trying to fit into a bikini again???? No I am not!!!

With all that said and on the table, I am going to stop beating myself up and do what I can do, what I want to do, when I can and want to!!! I just have so many other things going on in my life right not that are of incredible importance.
As long as I am burning about 1000 more calories/day than I am taking in I am going to be happy with that. Whatever exercise it entails to achieve that is going to be fine. If I burn more than that net per day, a bonus for me.

Please do not misunderstand this rant, it is not that I don't like to exercise because I do love to bike ride, play tennis, swim, walk, garden and do tons of it in the warmer months. This is really all about what I CAN do right now.

If you read this to the end, thanks for taking the time. It was really more therapy for me than anything else.
