Got a BodyMedia Fit sensor yesterday, to get (hopefully) a better idea how many calories I actually burn each day.
Obviously too early to tell for sure how accurate it is, but it's interesting. Had it on while I slept, and it seems to think I burn about 80 per hour while I sleep, which would correspond to about 1900 per day with no activity. That seems a little on the high side, but it's possible. Next up: comparing its estimate for my morning exercise against the Kinect estimate....
