It’s been rough, but at least hubby is on the mend and the kids and I somehow managed to dodge contracting Covid. Tomorrow is “de-isolation day” and I am looking forward to resuming my early morning walks, even in the cold.

Events of the past two weeks have had me thinking about something. Years ago I organised a step challenge in my office and partway through one of the ladies pulled out, saying that trying to keep up her step count while sticking to a strict diet was too stressful. I didn’t understand it at the time (I mean, getting your steps is a form of exercise and should help you lose weight, right?), but I think I get it now. When you’ve got too many demands to cope with, the mental load of trying to manage everything can become stressful and overwhelming, even when some of the activities you are dealing with are beneficial for your health and goals.

So rather than telling myself I am useless for gaining weight AGAIN and I may as well give up right now, I am telling myself to acknowledge it has been a rough time, consider what I can learn from it, and get moving again. Quite a different perspective from my younger years.

Good mentality you've got there🌻. So we live and learn😌.It's the tough experiences that makes us stronger and more appreciative. There's a lot to be thankful for. Happy that hubby is okay and that you all can unite tomorrow💃😁. Things can only get better from here on❤.
