Been losing about 0.5/week without exercise, just healthy calorie counting with cheat days almost every week. I'm just trying to get my BMI back to within the normal range. I've only done this for a month and 7 days now and have lost 4kgs in total. I think I'm ready to add some exercise now. Unrelated question... Did you guys have to quit drinking alcohol or just limit the intake?

Well done! As for the alcohol it’s honestly all relative. Like any unhealthy choice limiting by at least 30-50% (based on your current consumption) will guarantee positive changes. The closer you get to your goal the stricter you’ll need to become to see more results. 🌻

I drink 2 glasses of wine twice a week or on occasion whiskey with coke zero. whiskey is your lowest calorie alcohol and very healthy for your heart. wine is good for your immune system. so moderate intake is good. just make sure you add those calories to your counter.

I definitely drink less and when I do drink, I choose my poison wisely. sugar free tonic and gin with ice and limes are my current go to. but I only have one drink a week. I find that alcohol causes water retention (not to mention craving for fry-ups and burgers/chips) so I naturally started reducing consumption because my weight loss/health journey has become my priority. I used to drink a glass of red wine every night and a few spirit/bourbon drinks on a weekend. call it 10 drinks a week. I now drink 2 shots worth once every week or two.
