Hi all, new to this group. I found this site at the end of January and was amazed by what it offered in the way of tracking. I researched the Recommended Daily Intake of protein, carbs, fat, fibre, sugar, and sodium, and decided to make my intake fit within those parameters. I also decided that this would not be a 'diet'just to lose weight but a lifestyle change. Since Jan 26th I've lost 25lbs - have a very long 'weigh' to go. Once I became used to logging food/tracking exercise etc and became more familiar with the 'program' it became a lot easier. I make the choice and live with my choices. Until COVID distancing I would eat out once a month at a favourite diner - their roast beef dinner was amazing, with trifle for dessert! I started using my exercise bike and do 30 mins a day. Nope, not always easy choices and constantly remind myself that it is a 'marathon' not a '200 yd dash'. I have started to wonder how to handle 'comments/compliments' about weight loss and the focus of others on me/my weight loss. It is my weight to lose, my business... noone elses. I have to handle that carefully so as not to derail - I know this and am working on, read thinking, of ways and means. Not sure how I'm coming across in this - but I just mean to help, not criticze anyone else and what works for them. Food is with you for life - if you are lucky! You can't 'quit' eating - so the relationship has to change. Keep up the good choices, and if you are going to eat it - enjoy it!
