Hello, here I am once again. My life has been a little challenging; make that a lot challenging. I have this gingival issue that my dentist can't figure out; neither could my primary care doctor.

So, for months I've been eating soft foods; odwalla protein smoothies, cottage cheese with peanut butter, my homemade bread ripped into tiny bits, dissolved in milk, then mixing in Greek yogurt and nut butter. I also rely on some Breyers delights ice cream, which contains a fair amount of protein and fiber, without a huge amount of sugar. sigh. I've made soups with lots of vegetables cut small, and any meat that I consume must be cut into tiny pieces or my gums bleed, especially when I floss and brush. I use Paroex mouthwash twice a day.

I lost a fair amount of weight, then discovered that I could eat some of the cookies I baked for the holidays, and in fits of feeling sorry for myself, I eat too much chocolate that doesn't irritate my mouth too much

Dark chocolate irritates my gums, but I discovered some milk & semisweet chocolate that I can tolerate.

I contacted my neurologist regarding the issue, and he suggested that it must be nutritional deficiency. He told my to take vitamin c and niacin every morning. this morning was my first niacin; it causes a yucky flushing. Getting overheated aggravates my MS, and I needed to practice my Zumba Gold choreography; I felt totally wiped out from the heat, but remained clear-headed enough to get my ice filled neck wrap and finish today's practice.

I teach on Monday, YIKES. I don't teach often, so I'm a bit nervous. The ladies I teach are really wonderful, so I'm sure I'll do well enough. I'll take them freshly baked cookies, too.
