Are you kidding me????? No weight change all week and I’ve been working out hard for 2-3 hours/day every day and cut my calories wayyy back!

Yeah - your body may be changing. You could take measurements as well as using the scale to get a more accurate picture

You will hit plateaus where your body wont lose weight for a while. It will start decreasing again. You'll see.

2-3 hrs a day is way too long for a rookie

You do know that exercise is about 10-15% great for weight loss, and the 90-85% most important thing to do is control your calorie intake ?

Experts believe that water can temporarily replace triglycerides in fat cells as you lose fat masking fat loss. Weight lifting can also cause water retention as your muscles repair. Muscle can be gained in a calorie deficit if you're new to lifting. Not to mention 1 week is literally nothing in the pursuit of fat loss.

Keep doing what you're doing and keep an eye on trending weight after a month. Adjust calories after a month if there is no progress.

Diablo360x thank you, that’s encouraging! I’m not new to working out but haven’t been doing it for a little over a year (4 mo post op instructions, then just pure laziness). I’m very determined to get this weight back off and get myself back in shape—I had lost 54# with diet and exercise while I was working as a travel nurse a few years ago, then got a job at home and am back to dinners at mom’s house. I gained about 40# back from not working out and too much comfort food. It’s just disappointing that when I wasn’t dieting I could lose 1-2# in a day if I didn’t eat much the day before. This time I’ve been eating right, lowered my caloric intake and was working out and my weight stayed the same for 3 days and was up a # this morning.

You're welcome. Yes, if you've been away from lifting for a while muscle memory will ensure muscle gain and fat loss simultaneously. Keep it up!
