Something that helped me understand, the way my body reacts to certain foods, is the elimination diet. I always had stomach problems and came across this diet (while I was watching my calories) that eliminates 7 food groups from your diet for 3 short weeks. Then you add these food groups back into your diet 1 at a time and you see the way your body reacts to these foods. It was a real eye opener for me. I found out that certain foods I thought were bothering me actually weren't and foods I thought I was ok with were the real culprit. After all of this I still eat all my favorite foods, with a few omissions, but I've never felt better and it was really easy to do. For more info on the 7 food groups look up J.J.
