Another pound off? I am beginning to love Atkins now! This is my fourth attempt and I have never lasted for more than 3 days. Here are some things I have learnt:

Eat fat to lose fat. In my previous attempts, I was trying to speed up weight loss by reducing fat intake as well as carb. BAD IDEA! Get in as much high fat, low carb foods as you can. I use olive oil to fry my eggs. I use balsamic vingagrette with olive oil (olive oil has 14g fat per tbsp!)

What you wear when you weigh yourself is as important as when you weigh yourself. I wore fleece pants to weigh myself and my weight hadnt shifted. I took it off and reweighed myself..1lb difference!!

Everything is NOT created equally. Check EVERY product you buy. Dont assume that identical products made by different companies have the same carb value. I ran out of my beloved heavy cream at night and scooted to the local supermarket for resupplies. When I tried to whip the cream it wouldnt and for some reason I decided to check the ingredients. Normally, it should just say 'heavy cream'. NOPE. This one said heavy cream, mono diglycerides, carageenan AND dextrose. Artifical sweetner that added 1b per tbsp. Real heavy cream has none.

FIND RECIPES. Before I survived on Chicken and salad. I got fed up with dry chicken and dry salad. That is until I discovered you should eat fats. Now I have salad dressings and vary the salads I have. Chicken is also not just a whole chicken breast. I shred it, cube it, medallion it. Bake it, grill it, fry it. Toss it into salads, mix it with mayo, cream cheese or sour cream. Sprinkle on Salsa, cheese or whatever you fancy thats ok on Atkins.

JOIN A WEBSITE. Coming to fatsecret has been the incentive to keep going. I feel that I would be letting everyone here know I give up too easily if I stopped. The support from the people here makes you feel good. Also, when you are encouraging others, it seems to give your own weight struggle more meaning. Another thing, I find recipes and great products (courtesy of mbpro! I love ya..keep em coming!!)

This is going great and I really feel I can do it now.
