My scale broke on Friday so I couldn't weigh in until this morning when I replaced the battery. It was an interesting few days without a scale, but it all ended in a pretty happy moment.

I officially haven't worked out for a week due to stress at work and extreme fatigue. Planning cardio for tomorrow afternoon and hoping to get in some weights and pilates tonight. Roommate and I have one of our killer workouts planned for Thursday so I don't want that to be my first day back for fear that I may not be able to walk over the weekend!

Confession time... I seriously binged this weekend. My sister had me out partying until 3:30 in the morning on Saturday. I haven't done that in quite awhile. We were all planning on stopping at McDonalds before getting into cabs and going our separate ways, but then we stumbled upon a Mexican restuarant that still had live music at 1:45. We sat down for a 4th meal and I even got my boyfriend to dance with me! I don't know why I find it necessary to eat EVERYTHING on the menu when I eat Mexican food. It is like I think I am never going to get it again, when in reality I will probably be having it in a week haha. Momma always says, "Go big or go home!"

Back to being responsible with my food. The issue is that I didn't go grocery shopping after I got home from vacation last week. I finally went last night and it just makes me so happy. Being able to mix my newfound love of vegetables with my budget-minded brain is like a challenge. Yes, I am a nerd in that way. I read somewhere that sticking to the perimeter of the grocery store is the way to go because that is where the real foods are. My store is set up a little differently, but I really only went to the produce section and the meat department. Chicken breasts on sale and a large basket of green things ended up not breaking the bank whatsoever!!

I also discovered an item that curbs my ice cream obsession... and it ended up being on sale! The Del Monte Fruit Naturals grapefruit cups... FROZEN. Do it. Take a spoon and scrape the frozen deliciousness into a granita. Each cup lasts two desserts for me because you have to work for it so it takes awhile to eat. Much better than running downstairs to 7/11 for a Double Caramel Magnum or going down the street for a $5 cup of frozen yogurt.

Obviously the espresso kicked in early this morning because I don't think I have ever rambled in a journal entry like this. I'm cutting myself off! Happy Tuesday to all :)
