My weight is down a bit (about 2 pounds from last weigh in; down about 48 pounds from when I started this journey originally on Sparkpeople). My weight loss is slow but it all adds up! I've been tracking food and exercise on the WW app; tracking really works for me.

I'm in the process of getting my first knee replacement scheduled, as an outpatient surgery. My arthritis has gotten worse, and I have fallen a couple of times due to knee instability despite the knee braces and hiking poles. I love hiking so it will be tough to have to give up something I love. My sisters will stay with me for the first week or so. Surgery will probably be late October or early November.

I'm having trouble loading photos. So either there will be a photo of a meadow (Slough Camp near the Deschutes River) or both the meadow and a photo of the river. Or if I'm unlucky, maybe nothing!

It's been a while since I checked in! I had a great visit to see family in California, and my sister really went out of her way to cook healthy light meals. I came home with several new recipes! Then almost immediately I had house guests. I cooked healthy light meals, which they seemed to enjoy. But I also purchased cookies. I did okay at avoiding desserts after dinner and limiting alcohol. I did eat a few of the cookies at lunch.

On the big plus side, I enjoyed LOTS of hiking! And I have started the process for approval for knee replacement surgery. My arthritis is pretty bad. And I am falling more frequently when I hike due to knee instability, which is a little scary. I used to be a Sierra Club hike leader, and now I am MUCH slower, and doing shorter hikes. But we all need to continue doing what we love!
