I did, earlier this evening, eat a 4 serving packet of smashed taters with 3/4 of a cup of pepper jack cheese mixed in. 870 kcal that I probably did not need to eat. At the same time, I am in the process of emptying out my cupboard. Empty it all out and start again from scratch with those items I can keep without obsessing on them along with healthy items that I must make regular staples. I have been studying my eating habits and associated behaviors for a while. It is so much more involved than food. Oh well, one day at a time, I guess. On the bright side, I did weigh in at 273 when I got up this morning.

Today was different. I still slept far too late. However, I did do some gardening. I moved a fitness machine which I first had to take apart. I returned to the master cleanse lemonade. Not going full bore yet. Re-evaluating what I have been doing. Adding to what I do. At the advice of my doctor, I bought a fitbit. Took a bit to figure it out. Will have some adjusting to do. Have no doubts this new piece of equipment will almost immediately tell me what I am truly doing and suggest I become more active. Well, what gets measured gets improved. Time for bed.

Thanks everyone for your encouragement. I did reach a low of 272 before falling away to my current weight. Things that attributed to this: 1) Did not maintain the food journal; 2) did not acknowledge first slip, instead developed a case of the "fuck-its" and went further down that road we all know that provides us more of what does not work along with the shame and guilt associated with the behaviors. On the plus side, I have come to realize that there are certain foods that I just plain cannot have in my home under any circumstances. There are also some types of foods that I can have around provided I am able to limit my intake. The body needs some fats in my diet and without them I will begin to crave sweets and other carbo junk. It also takes fats to burn fats. Acknowledging the lapse and lessons learned. Time to get back on the horse.
