Hi and welcome to Day 3 of 14 of my Raw Til 4 Challenge. Honestly, it might be Day 3 of 7 (or Day 3 of 3) if I feel like I felt yesterday. I felt perfectly fine on Day 1, but yesterday was a completely different issue. All of the fructose affected my blood sugar. It rose during breakfast and stayed high until I had my final meal of lentil/spinach soup. I don't like when my blood sugar is high as much as I don't like it when it is low.

Our resident body builder/trainer coworker instructed me to lower my fruit consumption and increase the vegetables. He stated that he can't eat like his fitness inspirations because the reality of his life is that he works a sit down job. He advised me that he thought Raw Til 4 is a good challenge, but that I need to tailor it to our sedentary worklife.

So, today's breakfast smoothie is a large handful of spinach, two obsenely long carrots, and blueberries. No smoothie for lunch, instead I have two mason jar salads with pinapple, tomato, orange bell peppers, and romaine. I'm using lemon juice as my dressing. I do have my bananas for snack.

Last night's prep work was much quicker!

In other news, I get an email back from the interview. And... it's not a reject email :-) We have moved into the next stage of checking my references. Things are really looking good, but again. I want to tamper down my excitement until I get an offer. Getting turned down by the last company really crushed me, so let's not repeat that shall we?

I really didn't get a cheat day this weekend. I wanted to enjoy a gluten free pizza from Uncle Maddio's; however, I found out that Sunday was the first and not today (Monday). That threw my weigh-in schedule off, so all I treated myself to was a cup of that tiramisu gelato that I had last week.

I think that was a bad idea. I did have a great weigh-in Sunday morning, but I could barely get my bowels to move. Sunday is when I started my Raw Til 4 challenge, and everything that I ate got stuck behind the blockage. I was so uncomfortable all day and night.

Luckily, bananas have a lot of magnesium, so I just took the probiotic last night and was able to go this morning.

So, my first thought on Raw Til 4 is that you spend a heck of a lot of time in prep work. You know I like to do very little prep. I like to keep my cooking process in as few steps as possible. Second, maybe I should have waited until the summer time to start this. I don't like drinking cold smoothies in a cold office. Third, I need a rolling briefcase because toting 4 large mason jars of heavy smoothies (2 for breakfast and 2 for lunch) and additional snacks is going to get old.

Fourth, the smoothies are thinner than I thought they'd be, but I guess I control that with the amount of water I add to them. Fifth, I don't think I bought enough food for the week. I became very anxious at the farmer's market the heavier my cart became. How was I going to pull it onto the bus on the way home. Luckily the first bus driver was really amused by my struggle and didn't mind lowering the wheelchair ramp. The second bus driver is know for her attitude, and I sure got it when I asked her to lower the ramp for me.

I feel just as energized as I did on a regular vegan diet. You're not supposed to let yourself get super hungry on the RT4 diet, but I barely got hungry at all yesterday eating lunch at around 2:30.

Let's see how well I run today. I was able to burst into a sprint Saturday morning and that was a big accomplishment for me. I liked that feeling of barely touching the ground. It felt like flying.

Alright, time to get some hot mint tea and fill up my water bottle. Half a mason jar of breakfast smoothie to go.

Okay, I have got to stop eating "just vegetables" as a meal. With my newfound bowel regularity (thank you Magnesim and probiotics), food doesn't just sit in my stomach carrying over from meal to meal. That means, a meal of just vegetables doesn't have anything to slow it down. It doesn't sustain me by itself and needs to be accompanied by carbs and protein.

I was lethargic and munchie when I left work yesterday. I thought my upcoming TOM was to blame, but once I ate my dinner everything rebounded back to normal. I still couldn't manage to stay up to watch Scandal and How to Get Away With Murder, though. I have no concentration for tv right now. I've been absorbed in watching videos and reading blogs about people's success with veganism and Raw Til 4 veganism.

Last night, my mom said that she didn't need to see a picture of the dress because the headshot that I sent her was enough to see that I was losing weight in my face. She's excited for me and maintains that she cannot live without meat and Adkins is the best WOE for her. I hope to have good progress to show her by the time we see each other in May.

I get to run today, and I'm going to run hard. Let's call it a speed day. It doesn't matter if I can't push it for all 30 minutes. I just need to give my muscles new memory.

Alright, time to make some calls and finish my work.

Oh no! I have the munchies!

I think it's really a product of all the excitement today. I had my face-to-face interview which became three interviews. The company is very modern, and everyone that I spoke to was pretty cool. I have a feeling that I can be really happy there. However, I will not get my hopes up. I still have a job which pays the bills and keeps me fed, so this is just an interview for another opportunity. Life goes on if I don't get this job too.

I was supposed to run today, but the interview went over by an hour. So, I will run tomorrow rain or shine. I made sure to get some vegetables in last night for dinner and today for lunch...a vegetable curry with mustard greens, mushrooms, and tomatoes. Sometimes I feel that I don't get in enough veggies when I mix them into another dish. Tonight is my lentil spinach soup!

I've got a cheat day coming up this weekend, and I don't know what I want. Tin Drum Asian Cafe keeps popping into my mind, but the bowl I get is already vegan...does that count as a cheat? Any ideas? I proudly had a serving of Tiramasu gelato on my last cheat day. I can't believe how far I've come, because the container in my freezer doesn't even tempt me.

Oh speaking of how far I've come, I am wearing my interview dress and it's loose...like in danger of being too big! The last time I wore it was 30-45 days ago. Wow! I can't wait to tell my mom.

Nothing big to report today. I am getting tons of compliments; it all depends on what I wear. Monday and Tuesday my clothing was loose fitted, and today I'm wearing a sweater dress and tights. I can tell that my body is changing when I look at it in the mirror now. The scale is being stubborn, so I'll let it just sit there and play by itself.

Volunteering was fun last night. They ordered catering from Willy's Mexican Cantina (or something) so I was able to eat enough beans, salsa, pico, guac, corn chips, and lettuce as my dinner. I actually prefer Moe's because their food is seasoned better. But it was free, and I didn't have to revert to eat it.

I'm sore from yesterday's strength training. Today is 30 minutes of other cardio (or strength training). I'm going to do the stationary bike!

I have a second phone interview today. I'm trying not to be nervous, because nervous means that I'm getting my hopes up. I'll just do my best and know that being rejected is not the end of the world because I already have a job that pays the bills. Plus, I've been promised a raise, and a little extra money each pay period is one of the motivators for looking elsewhere.

Time to finish this water, and get to work (I'm ahead, yay!).
