Today I am logging is a 0.2 pound gain. Not what I wanted, of course. I have learned one more time what I have known for years - one blow out meal a week wipes out the progress of the whole week.

I was making good progress with my weight loss this week on target for a 1.6 loss as of last Wednesday. On Thursday I indulged in a Tim Horton's chocolate donut and a muffin. Otherwise the day was good. Those two items are very high in calories! Together they are 580 calories. I looked it up. And the result?? a modest gain instead of a maybe two pound loss. Moral of the story - once a week blow outs are detrimental to over all weight loss.

The good news for me is that my tenants who I evicted have left only one day late. They have left the place in relatively decent condition - will need a thorough clean and a bit of touch up paint. Damages are of the wear and tear variety so not bad. The only crazy thing was they removed the theromostat?? I am expecting that I will be returning as much as two thirds of their damage deposit.

Moving in the right direction! Good to see 2.8 pounds come off. I am still 11 pounds above my lowest weight in December and 17.8 pounds to get to where I am no longer deemed overweight. So no done yet.

I took the advice of one member about adding magnesium to combat sugar cravings. Early days so the jury is out but definitely willing to try.

I have moved the eviction piece along and have rented out a different unit. Papers all signed last night. So rentals are running in both directions - good and bad!

I went to a retirement tea yesterday afternoon at our local library. It was wonderful to be witness to her 30 years as a librarian. She has been an long time asset to the community. Went to lunch with two other retired teachers and that was fun to relax at the coffee shop and visit.

My hair was cut and I indulged in a lovely massage this week as well.

Lots of accounting work was done this week. So busy busy!

My granddaughter is here for the weekend to do schoolwork and I am sorting books this afternoon for a used book sale to support our Women's Shelter. So off and at 'em!

Another gain. I am not thrilled however it is no mystery how this happened. I am definitely fighting my sugar monster - showing up in jam, chocolates, taffy, etc. Basically looking for sugar based foods. I even stopped for a Dairy Queen cone! Yikes!!

At least identifying what I am doing allows me to make a change. I know from past experiences that three sugar free days will break the sugar cycle. Those three days can be tough. But that is what it takes.

This week I did something I never wished to do. I served an eviction notice to a renter. Unfortunate but had to be done. I have been wracking my brain as to what I could have done differently in my vetting process that this wouldn't have happened.

Snow is nearly gone and that is exciting as I have much I want to do outside as soon as it gets a bit warmer. Today the high is supposed to be 8C (45F). Moving upwards.

Decent loss in a week (2.8lbs). Since I had a large gain last week (5.6lbs) I would have liked the loss to be more! Isn't that always the way? At least I have stopped the slide.

I had some difficulties around sugar this week in the form of wine gums. I only eat them when I am driving... but that does set up the idea that the car is the place to indulge in sugar. Not ideal. At least they don't make it into the house.

This week I will focus on eating less sugar. I have 3 days this week when I am in town however two are evening times which should help somewhat. I will need to make a food plan around these days.

My exciting news is around internet! When I checked my speed just before changing over I had 2.5 mbps and this morning I have 130 mbps. It has made a huge difference when using my computer which I do a lot for bookkeeping. It is a true joy not to have to wait for the lag time.

My mural is moving along. He has nearly finished the sketching of the drawing. Should finish it today. Next comes the painting. I am very pleased with how it is turning out.

I participated in a blanket exercise earlier this week. It was a profound experience. The script was localized to our specific area. Essentially it is a simulation of the aboriginal experience from pre-colonial times to the present with a historical timeline and specific quotes from people who were living at the time. Having it specific to our location was especially powerful as the quotes were by people I either know or who are related to people I know.

Big gain this week. I had expected that I would do better in my eating this week however I did not count on the number of times that I ended up in town. Going to town can play havoc with my eating at the best of times but since I seldom go to town more than once or twice in a week I can counter balance it fairly well. This week I have been in town 6 days in a row! The consequences of my choices on these days is a 5.6 weight gain. Urghh!

Fortunately it doesn't appear that next week will be quite so much on the road time. I think I am looking at one evening and one day. That is doable. I will need to go right back to my regular eating habits.

One of the days in town included celebrating my granddaughter's 17th birthday. She wanted Chinese food and card games. We gathered at my father in law's house and had a lovely family evening. (on the food side I indulged way too much in deep fried everything and dessert!)

I spent yesterday at the local Trade Fair as moral support to my daughter as she is doing her first foray into being a home based business. It was a long day but we had fun. Today I am back at the Trade Fair but this time at the Restorative Justice booth to do my volunteer time. This afternoon I am attending a funeral. Other activities this week included a nice visit with a friend, a board meeting and meeting with a client. I am really looking forward to a few days at home!
