Just a quick reflection.
My progress has been unbearably slow, it seems. I dropped into the 170s for the first time in many years, in January. And I've been bouncing up and down within 2-3 pounds of that ever since -- which is typical of the past three years.
But here's the thing, and I don't want to forget this: Three years ago, I weighed 222 pounds at my doctor's office. Now I weigh *more than 40 pounds less*.
40. four-oh. Forty.
I was wearing size 22W jeans. Now I wear 14s.
The time has continued to pass, and I have continued to g-r-a-d-u-a-l-l-y lose weight. Three years ago, I was gaining weight rapidly, sometimes as much as a pound a day, and I did not know why -- I thought there must be some horrible health issue, or hormonal imbalance, or something.
Nope.
I was eating too much. And exercising too little.
(I still gotta work on the exercising thing.)
I'm still not where I wanna be, but obviously the changes I have made are (slowly) working. I don't know how long it'll take to get there. But I have waaaaaaaay less than 40 pounds to go, that's for sure; and I hope that three years from now I'll be saying, yeah, it was slow, but here I am, right where I need to be!
The time will pass anyway.
And once it has passed, does it really matter how long it took?
