I loved turning 40...all the way until about 45. The last two years have been rough with the hormones. I seem to be finally on the right track w/HRT and now I need to drop the 25 pounds I've put on in the last 4 years. Yo-yo'd a bit two years ago and half of that since then. Now it's back to getting fit so I have the energy and body I want at 50.

UPDATE: I was diagnosed with hormone positive breast cancer in 2017 @ 49 yrs old. Turns out that I carry the BRCA2 gene. So a double mastectomy, chemo, radiation and some additional surgeries bring us up to date, Jan 2020. I'm the highest weight I've been without being 9 months pregnant. I'm on a hormone inhibitor that takes a huge toll on my flexibility and joint health. This was not the 50 year old body I was shooting for back when I first joined. But it is what I've got and this year, I finally feel pretty good regularly. I'm starting the year off with a 21 day Daniel fast and will taper my eating accordingly after.
