I'm 49 1/2 years old mother of 3 (2 out of the house, and the 3rd at college) who enjoys gardening, video games, crafts, and cooking. After sitting in the 190s for over a decade, and then having to start blood pressure meds in mid January, I decided it was time for some changes and become healthier. 1 rowing machine, 1 exercise bike, a pair of heel lifts in every pair of shoes I wear for achilles tendinitis (don't wait until you have a bone spur, kids), and 2 months later I was down 15lbs and off the bp meds due to having LOW blood pressure. :)

I love having more energy, less joint/back pain, and seeing my toes (dang, I need a pedicure)... and I have a new appreciation for the humble sweet potato.

*2024 update*

After losing 25lbs in 3 months in 2023 life got in the way. 10 months later (house construction work, mother passing away, calcified tendonitis in the shoulder, and messing up my knee slipping on ice in the driveway) I'm up 10lbs and back here again (adding in doing my shoulder PT on hubby's weight machine to my rower and bike) to lose those, and hopefully beyond.

I love this site! It's a great way to keep track of those little things in my eating habits that add up, and inspires me to keep up with exercising.
