Where to begin :) Food was my crutch, I ate when I was happy, I ate when I was sad, I ate when bored, any excuse to eat, I had it. Food literally became my best friend. So when I graduated high school yo-yo dieting began, I had joined weight watchers once, lost 65 pounds and gained it all back plus some!
While I was pregnant with my first daughter, I reached my all time high of 300 pounds, and believe me it was not all baby weight :( I remember taking her to the park when she was not even a year old, and I was tired, I had no energy running after her. I think it really hit me when I flew out to FL for my parents to meet her and I was too embarrassed to ask for an extension for my seatbelt and got off the plane with a huge bruise from it. I looked back at those pictures and decided I needed to do something. Went on weight watchers and lost some weight but it wasn’t until I saw a special about Sharon Osborne and her lap band procedure that I decided to look into weight loss surgery. I literally cried watching her show, because all her issues and depressions were a reflection of what I was going through. So I researched and researched, joined a support group and decided in 2008 to have Gastric Bypass. In all so far I have lost 115 pounds.
2010, I was at my lowest weight ever in my life 164 pounds. Only 15 away from goal…. I was told I was pregnant…with twins. But luckily I did not use that pregnancy as an excuse. But it has added to the weight I need to lose.
And here I still am, just unable to reach my goal years later. I keep fluctuating up 15 down 10, up 5 more down 10. My goal is not to be too thin, just healthy. Just to be out of the overweight BMI category for once in my life.
So here’s to my never ending construction. Trying hard not to fail, so that one day I can eat to live and not live to eat! Feel free to become a friend as we continue this journey to improve our selves and lives for the better!
