• 49M with desk job, 5'9.75", kid #2 recently arrived. SW 210 lb (2023-03-26), CW 193, GW 173.

• Started fasting for weight control, with fasts to be spaced further apart once GW achieved.

• After trying 36h:12h (ADF), settled on mainly 2d:2d, tapering intake on second eating day. Hoping to see fairly consistent weight loss after each successive fast.

• Breaks now and then. Staying persistent but flexible. Tried 60h:12h, found it hard not to break my fast at 24h. Seems my body wants two eating days between longer fasts.

• On fasting days: adequate hydration; electrolytes; coffee with a splash of cream. On eating days: lots of protein; prebiotics (fiber, e.g. veggies); some healthy fats (fish, olive oil, avocado).

• No longer counting cals. Counting has worked for me in the past, but I haven't been able to sustain it, particularly with our young kids, and our kitchen geared toward feeding them. Fasting has been easier to stick to.

• Moderate exercise to preserve lean body mass.
